RFC35R RATE COMPASS

WITH OPTIONAL RFC35SIN PCB

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

The RFC35 SIN PCB provides analogue sine/cosine output from RFC35R Rate

Compass. The output signal is ±2V with 2.5V reference (from autopilot).

Inserting the PCB

Open the compass and insert the SIN

PCB into the slots in the housing.

Make sure the edge connector on the

SIN PCB fits into the matching

connector on the Main PCB. It might

be necessary to loosen the Main PCB

screws in order to align it in right

position. Then fasten the screws after

the SIN PCB has been inserted.

Micro-controller chip

The Rate PCB must have a chip marked V1R3 (or V1R2A) in order to work with the

SIN PCB.

A V1R3 chip will be supplied with the SIN PCB for a limited periode of time. If not

supplied, it can be ordered from your Dealer/Distributor as; P/N 22082432 - V1R3 s.w.

Use appropriate tool to remove the chip from the socket. RFC35RN. V1R3 is standard

supply in all RFC35R Rate Compasses from s.n. 463E12.

Installation

The RFC35R contains a

magnetic fluxgate sensor

and great care should be

taken when deciding the

mounting location. The

heading sensor must be

mounted at a location

where there is a minimum

of magnetic interference.

Note ! To minimize the effect of heeling errors, installation on the fly bridge or in the mast

is not recommended.

The RFC35R compass can be deck or bulkhead mounted with the cable gland pointing

aft.
